Angela (Angie) Jean Walker Apauty, age 56, went to her heavenly home on May 2, 2025, at 9:15 p.m. at OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City, OK surrounded by her loved ones. She was a devoted Christian mother, wife and Memaw. Angie was born on June 11, 1968, and lived a life dedicated to her family and her faith. She was a pillar of strength and love, always guiding her children and grandchildren with grace and wisdom. She lived a life rooted in faith, devoted to Christ, and guided by the teachings of the Holy Bible. As a devoted Christian, Angie found comfort in prayer, joy in worship, and peace in the promise of eternal life. She shared her faith with everyone she met. She loved to sing and attend gospel singings with her husband, Faron Apauty Sr.
Angie is the daughter of Gladys walker of Anadarko, Ok and Calvin Jones of Pine Ridge, South Dakota. She is the big sister to Tracy and the Late BenMichael. She is an enrolled member of the Wichita and Affiliated Tribes, Hunkpapa Band and Lakota Sioux. She graduated from Stafford Senior High School in Fredericksburg, Virginia in 1986. The family moved back to Oklahoma and she attended Cameron University. She met the love of her life, Faron Apauty Sr in 1987. They married August 5th 1994 in Anadarko, OK and been together for 37 years. Together they raised 3 children Sarah Louise, Neesa (Honey) and Faron Jr. (Brother) who went on to give her 9 grandchildren. Whom she loved dearly. She was a loving mother and memaw. She enjoyed playing fastpitch softball and volleyball, traveling, camping, boating and spending time with her family. She loved to be fabulous.
Angie received her Associate’s Degree from Redlands Community College in El Reno, OK. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree from USAO in Chickasha, OK. Angie continued her education and worked on to get her Master’s Degree from SWOSU in Weatherford, OK. While working on her education Angie worked within the Anadarko Public School Systems for 20+ years. Angie was the secretary for the Wichita Tribe Gaming Commission Board for 16 years. She was also on the Wichita Tribe Health Board.
Angie is preceded in death by her brother, BenMichael and her father, Calvin Jones.
Angie will be forever missed by her surviving family, her husband of the home, Faron Apauty Sr.; her daughter, Sarah and Tiauna Ricker of Anadarko, OK; her daughter, Neesa and Maxwell Franklin of Gracemont, OK; her son Faron Jr. and Cadence Apauty of El Reno, OK. She had 9 grandchildren; Mylah Jean, Joseigh, Warrior, Adaleigh, King, Layton, Avereigh, Dalylah, Shepard.
Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 7, 2025, and 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m., Thursday May, 8, 2025, at Smith Funeral Home in Anadarko, OK.
A prayer service will be held Thursday, May 8, 2025, from 6:00 p.m.- 8:00 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home in Anadarko, OK.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 9, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Anadarko, OK. Burial will be at Memory Lane Cemetery in Anadarko, OK, following the service. Dinner will follow at First Baptist Church.
