Sugar Creek Inn & Suites: Grand Re-Opening 10:00-11:00 A.M. SAT. OCTOBER 28, 2017
DOORS TO SUGAR CREEK INN AND SUITES OFFICIALLY OPEN!
HINTON, OKLA.--I-40 travelers and Sugar Creek Casino and Event Center patrons now have a place to stay.
The grand re-opening of Sugar Creek Inn and Suites took place on October 28, 2017, with members of the Wichita Executive Committee, Sugar Creek Casino, Wichita Tribe Industrial Development Commission, tribal employees and the Hinton Chamber of Commerce in attendance.
Formerly the Hinton Travel Inn, the re-opening featured open rooms that showcased single bed, double bed and suite offerings. An opening statement and prayer was offered by President Terri Parton. This was followed by an outdoor ribbon cutting and refreshments.
Parton said in her opening remarks that the Wichita and Affiliated Tribes held purchasing options on the Hinton Travel Inn for over 15 years and that the Tribe was finally able to purchase the properties in Hinton in August of 2014, which included the hotel.
"I hope this is just the start of good things to come for the things that we want to see done with our properties in Hinton," Parton said. "It takes a lot of work, time, resources and several people working together in the same direction to accomplish things like this. We appreciate everyone who had even a small part in helping us see this project through to completion."
The two-floor, 46-room hotel offers room amenities that include services such as complimentary Wi-Fi Internet access; free local calls; Keurig coffee/tea makers; refrigerators; microwaves; premium television channels; roll-a-way adult beds and infant crib beds. Property amenities include an indoor swimming pool and free breakfast from the nearby Sugar Creek Casino's Route 66 Roadhouse Café on Saturdays and Sundays.
"The WTIDC is excited for this opportunity to work with the Wichita Executive Committee on the growth of this business so that it may contribute to the economic wealth of the Wichita and Affiliated Tribes," Cynthia Billy, the WTIDC executive director, said in a press release issued by the Wichita and Affiliated Tribes Communications Office. "We are pleased to showcase Sugar Creek Inn and Suites' improvements to the community, and we aim to set new hospitality standards for our guests."
Tisha Bender, vice-president of the Hinton Chamber of Commerce, said "I love the re-vamp of everything. One of my best friend's mother worked here for years. I got to see it change. It's very nice. I love everything about it. [The Wichita and Affiliated Tribes] do a lot in our town."
