Public Health Nurse

The role of the Public Health Nurse, the PHN, for the Wichita Tribe is to provide access to nursing care and knowledge for individuals of all ages in order to maintain, protect and improve the health of our population and others we serve. Knowing that the enjoyment and quality of life is directly tied to one's health, the goal of this program is to help people make healthy choices and steward the amazing gift of their bodies well.

This program is open to all Wichita Tribal Members and enrolled members of a federally recognized tribe in our 10 county service area of:  Caddo, Grady, Kiowa, Comanche, Jackson, Harmon, Tillman, Stephens, Jefferson and Cotton counties. Individuals must provide proof of enrollment and proof of residency in the 10 county area.

We provide: In-home status checks, including monitoring vital signs and general condition of clients, basic nursing care and intervention, health education and case management to help members navigate the health care system.
