Enrollment Services
The Wichita and Affiliated Tribe Enrollment Office is responsible for the processing of all enrollment applications by researching individual applicants’ family lineage, establishing Wichita blood degree, and the subsequent creation of their Wichita family tree.
The Enrollment office also provides statistical data and individual membership information to our various tribal programs as needed and maintains the addresses of all tribal members for tribal elections and the mailing of newsletters.
Tribal members may request copies of their C.D.I.B. (Certificate of Degree of Indian Blood) cards, social security cards, or birth certificates from their enrollment files by written request only. C.D.I.B. cards are free but tribal Photo ID cards are currently $15.00 each.
Any name changes to enrollment information must be substantiated by legal documentation such as marriage or divorce decrees, legal name changes or adoption papers.
Enrollment Procedures
Eligibility Requirements
In order to be enrolled with the Wichita and Affiliated Tribes, an applicant must meet one of the criteria listed in the updated membership ordinance.
The following documents must be submitted:
- A signed and dated Enrollment Application
- An original state certified birth certificate of the applicant (No copies will be accepted. All originals will be returned by Certified Mail.)
- If adopted, both original state certified Birth Certificates and a copy of the adoption papers
- A legible copy of the applicant’s Social Security Card
- Parent’s CDIB cards, if applicable
Please note that other supporting documents may be required depending upon the application, and if either parent or other relative is currently enrolled. All researched enrollment applications are then presented to the Wichita Executive Committee for final approval by tribal resolution. All applicants are asked to please allow 6-8 weeks for processing.

Application Instructions
Please submit a return address when requesting updated documents to be returned to you by mail. In addition, you must provide the following in your request:
- Your full name as it appears on the tribal roll, at the time of enrollment
- Your date of birth
- The last 4 numbers of your Social Security number
- Please remember to sign and date your request

The Wichita Tribe Enrollment office needs updated information from tribal members as soon as possible. Please follow the link below to review an updated list of names that currently have bad mailing addresses.
If your name is on this list, you are encouraged to contact the Enrollment office to do your update.
For security purposes, when contacting us, you must be the individual and your parent, spouse, friend, etc., cannot make the address update for you.

Tribal Photo IDs - $15
You must submit all the documentation and mail your $15.00 money order to:

Your image must meet all the following requirements:
- A color headshot taken in front of a white background only, from the top of the shoulders to the top of the head. Photo should be similar to a passport or driver’s license image.
- Only a JPEG digital image will be accepted that is compatible with our software.
- Taken in full face view, directly facing the camera with a neutral facial expression. The image should contain no shadows.
- No eye glasses or head covering.
- Photo must be taken within the last 3 months and reflect your current appearance.
- Copied photographs from a driver’s license, high school picture, Facebook, etc., will not be accepted.
- In addition, any digitally enhanced and/or filtered photos or full-length photographs will not be accepted.
- The signed, notarized statement that includes your signature must also be sent.
You may send your digital image and other documentation to enroll@wichitatribe.com but we must also receive the $15.00 money order made payable to the Wichita Tribe in order to process your request for the photo ID. No exceptions.
Annual Children's Clothing Assistance Guidelines
Children’s Clothing NOTICE for FY-2025
THURSDAY- JULY 3, 2025: Beginning this date, all prior year applicants will be mailed an application according to their address on file. Members who have a bad address on file with enrollment may pick up an application in Tribal Administration or request one by phone or e-mail. No clothing applications will be distributed before this date.
FRIDAY– JULY 25, 2025: Is the cut-off date for receipt of all applications that expect their payment on the card distribution day on August 1, 2025. This is in conjunction with the annual school supply distribution. APPLICATIONS WILL STILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER THIS DATE but will be processed weekly.
FRIDAY– AUGUST 1, 2025: Funds will be available for distribution for those individuals who submitted their applications by the cut-off date of July 25, 2025. This distribution will be held in the Wichita Community Building from 9 am to 3 pm. Funds not picked up will be mailed out at the end of the day. Parents may still apply for their children up until Friday- Sept. 26, 2025 but the last day of September, 2025 is the ending of the Tribes fiscal year and CCA funding ends, no exceptions will be made.
BENEFITS: For FY2025 the Wichita Executive Committee determined that enrolled children from the ages of 5-17 years of age will receive $100.00 each. This monetary assistance shall be for the sole purpose of purchasing school clothing. All youth must be enrolled members of the Tribe or have applied for enrollment before June 1, 2025 to be eligible for the FY2025 clothing allowance.
WHO MAY APPLY: Due to issues of custody in the past, ONLY Parents or Legal Guardians may apply for the clothing assistance. If a Grandparent, Aunt, Uncle, or other relative, is applying for a child they must have legal custody or guardianship of that child. As stated in the CCA Guidelines ‘only parents and/or legal guardians may apply’. If we do not have verification of custody presented at the time of the application or already on file, the child will not be eligible until documentation is provided.
RECEIPTS: For FY2025 you will not have to turn in your clothing receipts. All purchases made with the card will automatically be received by the Tribe and we can view what purchases were made with the card.
VERIFICATION OF ATTENDANCE IN SCHOOL: For youth in grades 9-12, a ‘High School Certification Form’ must be signed by the parent or legal guardian verifying that the child is or will be attending school in that specific school year. The parent must sign this form and are attesting that the child is still in high school. In addition, if a child has reached the age of (18) years and is still attending high school, a written letter from the parent explaining the situation and addressed to the attention of the Wichita Executive Committee must also be submitted. This must be attached along with the CCA application and the High School Certification form. If the required documents are not received for those (18) years of age the application will not be processed.
NOTE: If you submit an application, always follow up on it in a timely manner to see if it was received. If it is received and you do NOT receive your card in the mail (unless you picked yours up in person) please contact us ASAP so we can determine what may have happened to it.
Annual Elders Annuity Payment Guidelines
The Elder’s Assistance program was created for the purpose of recognizing and showing respect and honor to our elderly tribal members of the Wichita and Affiliated Tribes who are at least (55) years of age or older, through an annual annuity payment.
All tribal members over the age of (55) years, regardless of residence, and those that may turn (55) during the calendar year (Jan.-Dec.) the annuity payment is given, are considered eligible. Tribal members may be notified through the tribal newsletter or through mail, as to the actual dollar amount that will be given, and instructions as to when and how the annuity payment will be distributed.
The elders payment will not automatically be mailed to individuals upon attaining the age of (55) and must be requested annually by submission of an application along with a photo ID or other proper form of identification, no exceptions. In addition, there are specific dates as to when applications will be accepted and when the application period will end. A date will also be set for elders who may want to pick up their checks in person and for when checks are mailed to those residing out-of-state. No payments are made BEFORE these dates are set (for example, you could not request your elders payment to pay for your rent or other bill during the year.)
An elder may request that an application be mailed to them by phone or e-mail only after the annuity distribution date has been set and announced. Guidelines are reviewed on an annual basis by the Wichita Executive Committee and they will make any adjustments as deemed necessary as to the annual amount of the payment.
